The Holy Grail of “Exile On Main Street” memorabilia. The promo baseball shirt.

February 17, 2014 by evpcd

Exile on Main St. featured a gatefold cover and included a series of 12 perforated postcards with a sequence of images inserts, all of which were shot by photographer Norman Seeff. The back cover features various photos of the Stones; the “mystery woman” pictured in the lower left side is Chris O’Dell, their personal assistant. The album photography and concept was by Robert Frank and includes images from his seminal 1958 book The Americans. The “Joe Allen” pictured in the collage is of a postcard-style advertisement by […]

Finally, A Mick Taylor Autograph.

June 29, 2013 by evpcd

I’ve never been able to track down a decent Mick Taylor autograph for my collection. In fact, by all accounts it seems Stones signed items from the 70’s appear to be “The Holy Grail” of all Stones signatures. For those who have been told on Autograph Magazine Live that this set is fake, I can assure you that’s nothing short of a ridiculous uninformed statement.  http://live.autographmagazine.com/forum/topics/rolling-stones-album-thoughts-please?xg_source=activity This set was purchased from Tracks UK one of THE most respected dealers in […]

The greatest Stones album ever, Exile on Main Street and the 1972 tour. And the rarest of all Stones memorabilia.

December 16, 2012 by evpcd

Exile on Main Street was a 1972 release (on Atlantic Records) by The Rolling Stones, with cover artwork & design by John Van Hamersveld. When the Rolling Stones released Exile in 1972 – a double album of songs representing the many different genres of music that shaped Stones music at the time – fans and critics found themselves having to spend a lot of time trying to “get it”. It required a number of listens to gain an appreciation of […]

Hiro and The Rolling Stones. The Black and Blue Album cover.

November 13, 2012 by evpcd

Check out one of the finest Rolling Stones items in existence–the original album cover artwork for the Stones 1976 album Black and Blue.   This is the actual photograph used to produce the album cover, taken by the legendary Japanese fashion photographer Hiro. As former Atlantic Records Vice President/Creative Director, Graphics Bob Defrin explains in his letter of authenticity, “Many years ago, before digital print production, artwork for printing was prepared on boards which would then be sent out to be […]

Keith Richards and “The Lost Sessions” Longview Farms, 1981.

March 14, 2010 by evpcd

Much has been written and documented about the now infamous Keith Richards “Lost Sessions” from Longview Farms in North Brookfield, MA prior to the 1981 tour. When Keith, Patti Hansen his wife, Jane Rose his manager and Alan Dunn and his wife visited Gil Markle’s legendary Longview Farms to check it out before the 1981 Tattoo You tour, Keith as usual made his visit memorable. Bootlegs galore have been made of those handful of classic songs Keith played on piano […]

When Keith Richards uses your office as a closet, what do you do?

February 27, 2010 by evpcd

Art Collins Vice President of Rolling Stones Records from 1981-1986, experienced a thing or two in his time with the band, as this post and story will attest to. Like his office being used by Keith Richards to store various items of clothing. Specifically the black leather jacket you see pictured. When I bought this item, I was as fascinated by the story, as I was being able to buy such an iconic item belonging to the legend himself. What […]

Charlie Watts is right….You Can’t Sign Drumsticks.

November 15, 2009 by evpcd

Concert used memorabilia in collecting is rare and difficult to find. Authenticating that the item was concert used is even more difficult and documentation is even harder to find. Which makes the pictured item rare indeed. Concert used and signed drumsticks belonging to Charlie Watts of The Rolling Stones. For starters, they are Ludwig drumsticks. Charlie used and played Ludwig back in the 80’s. He now uses Vic Firth. Secondly they were played at a very unique concert. December 18, […]

Keith Richards, Main Offender and X-Pensive Wino.

June 14, 2009 by evpcd

Main Offender is Keith Richards’ second solo studio album and his third overall. Released in 1992 in between The Rolling Stones’ Steel Wheels and Voodoo Lounge projects, Main Offender remains to date Richards’ most recent offering as a solo artist. Regrouping with his group of musician friends known as “The X-Pensive Winos”, Richards teamed up with Talk Is Cheap collaborator Steve Jordan and added Waddy Watchel to the mix both in composing and producing Main Offender. Sessions took place in […]
