The Doors L.A. Woman. Motel money murder madness.

May 9, 2016 by evpcd

This is hands down my favorite Doors album. Period. And L.A. Woman might be my favorite Doors song. Jim as his best. Honest and raw. I’ve looked for any memorabilia connected with this album and while there isn’t much, I’ve managed to track down a few items. The following was taken from teamrock.com. http://teamrock.com/feature/2014-11-05/the-20-greatest-doors-songs In which Mr Mojo Risin’ declares his love for all the little girls in their Hollywood bungalows and the City of Light in particular. The original handwritten […]

Everybody remembers their “first.” My Jim Morrison and Doors autograph.

March 22, 2016 by evpcd

An amazing find. To be perfectly honest, I already had resigned myself to NEVER owning an early Doors autograph. Let alone anything signed by Jim himself. So go figure. Here’s a fully signed Doors tour book from 1969. A rare program on it’s own, but this one is signed by the entire band. Each member signing on his page and Jim signing next to the opening page where the lyrics to “The Wasp. Texas Radio and The Big Beat” are […]

Light My Sparkler. More rare Doors memorabilia.

December 21, 2014 by evpcd

Here’s a very rare Doors 1968 Concert Tour Poster, sold at a limited number of tour dates during their 1968 US tour, as was the scarce but more common program. This example is signed by photographer and Jim Morrison friend Paul Ferrara in the white area of the bass drum. Here’s how it’s described on doors.com website. 1968 The Doors ‘Light My Fire’ Tour Poster. (17″ x 21″) ORIGINAL 1st and only edition poster. These are the infamous posters that […]

The 5 most “desired” and collected frontmen in rock today.

May 3, 2014 by evpcd

I started thinking about who might be the most important frontmen in rock today. Who are considered by rock critics and fans alike the most desired, respected, valued and therefore collected in the area of rock and roll memorabilia. And are the frontmen of these super groups even worth collecting on their own? So I went online and began my research. There was no shortage of polls and online sites dedicated to naming and discussing the the best frontmen of […]

James Douglas Morrison graduates George Washington High School 1961 and goes on to become The Lizard King.

February 22, 2014 by evpcd

Another yearbook of a rock icon. Jim Morrison. Any decent Doors memorabilia is virtually impossible to find. Anything Jim even tougher. I’ve seen a few of these over the years. I had to find one. This gem came from Jeff Gold at Recordmecca. Jeff has scored some ridiculous Doors stuff over the years. Including Jim’s Paris Notebook. Check it out. http://recordmecca.com/products-page/museum-quality-collectibles/jim-morrison-paris-journal-1971-manuscript-notebook-the-doors/ Hard to imagine this clean cut high school honor student was going to become one of the most explosive […]

“Jim Morrison used to sit on this case and smoke a joint now and then.” According to Ray Manzarek.

October 2, 2013 by evpcd

My latest find. Actually a trade. A Doors road case from the late 60’s early 70’s. Vintage, used, thrown across the room, beat up, kicked, dropped and sat on by the Lizard King himself. What makes this piece way cooler, if that’s even possible, is the letter the Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek wrote on Doors stationary to accompany it. I’ve for some strange reason always wanted to add a road case to my collection. You got to figure if […]
