Maybe because they are from my generation.
Maybe because you drooled over them while furiously tearing through the Sears Christmas catalog.
Or maybe because my parents never got me one.
Hard to believe today these relics sell in the hundreds. Back in the 50’s and 60’s they sold for $4.98-8.77??
When you find them on ebay, the shipping costs are usually more than the drums.
The art pretty much runs the gamut.
Mostly weird, but I love it.
Western, Hawaiian, 50’s kids dancing the Jitterbug, Creepy Clowns, Nursery Rhyme animals, as well as a Lil’ Abner rip off. The more outrageous the art, the better they sell.
